A favorite track of mine on a personal level, though the album has hits that are much better from a critical standpoint. Its very interesting to see how this track/album has created this huge divide between the older Daft Punk fans and the (relatively) newer ones. The closest analogy I can think of would be the Kanye-fan divide after Yeezus came out. Still though, while I empathize with the frustration original fans might have had when Discovery departed so much from Homework, I can't help but applaud Guy and Thomas for having the courage to make the music they enjoyed even when they knew they might lose some of their core fans from their debut. This track, and Discovery were the entry points for a lot of contemporary music lovers that sparked their appreciation in the art as a hobby, myself included.

i find the divide kind of weird as an outsider, I mean I'm into progressive trance. But daft punk just always sounded like daft punk to me, i dont see much difference in style beteen this and around the world.

Worst single by a long way, corny cheesy & annoying.90 percent of the underground at the time hated it, the reason it was so big in my view was it was the first contact the young mainstream (that were in primary school for Homework) had with Daft Punk.I personally hated playing it, even frequency wise that screeching killed me, this track is the equivalent to nails on a blackboard.Low point in their stella career.

Haha..I just stumbled across this. I also felt the same way and DESPISED it when it was fresh. Years later I can appreciate it for its raw simplicity and yes cheesiness. Just goes to show you don't need to overthink things to have a hit and make $$$. Lots of other songs I can add to this as well ;)

i know it won't change your opinion, but the track was recorded in 1998 and shelved until 2001.

14 years after its release, this still (or maybe again?) has the power to tear dancefloors apart. It's a classic that everybody instantly recognizes, and the extended version with the long break is perfect sing-along material ("music's got me feeling so free / celebrate and dance so free") that, if dropped at the right time and place, makes people go nuts, even if they came for a more underground kind of House. Use this weapon seldomly, surprising people is what makes this record so fun to play.

This is one of those songs that everyone would suddenly look back and say "This isn't really that good". Its just like all those Chevy Chase movies that people have turned into "Cult Classic's".... Its the best thing to happen to Electronic Music in 2000. And has in fact, publicized "AutoTune". Not my favorite, but I support it 120%.

Probablimente hate me for what I'm about to say but: the fact that Daft Punk have become popular mainly for this song annoys me. In fact I think it is not their best and in fact you should make sure that they are well-publicized other songs

They got popular 4-5 years before this song..!! Da Funk and Around the world was all over VH1 and MTV and the radio back in 96-97..!! One more time was just the succesfull sequal

Continues to be brought out at New Year parties across the continents, and rightly so. Daft Punk's classic disco-house club track is a must for every DJ's shelves, if not their box. Just don't let it play too long...

Daft Punk appeared with filtered vocal tune after some invisible years, and it divided their fans into two parts. The ones who felt abandoned and left behind, and the ones who loved Daft Punk even more for their ability to move forward. I think that this track is one of the tracks that describes modern disco music best. It stays true to the roots and at the same time it takes it forward. Short and simple... It's one of a kind...
