"The Monkey Song" was written and originally recorded by The Mountain Goats on their "Philyra" 7-inch on Theme Park records out of Brighton. Our rendition of their song was recorded at Idful, Chicago in November of 1996. It is also worth noting that in June of 1995 we released (in the ever-popular 7-inch vinyl format) a previous version of "The Monkey Song" on Sweet Pea Records out of Chicago.
"Malcolm's X-Ray Picnic" is an original composition gleaned from the "Wrecked By Lions" full-length release on Flydaddy/Blue Rose out of Newport and London respectively. It was recorded at Idful, Chicago in April and May of 1996. "Malcolm's" also appeared as the lead-off track on our "Kim Chee Is Cabbage" CD-EP which was released on the Western shores of the Atlantic this past Autumn by Flydaddy.
"Not Quite Reading" and "High Diver" are both original compositions whose original home was aforementioned "Kim Chee Is Cabbage" CD-EP.Both were recorded at the highly-influential Stroppy 8-Track facility, Chicago in August 1996.
