This is a review for the USModular Recordings pressing/reissue, which I'm assuming was reissued in 2014, however I don't have any confirmation on this as the reissue just lists the release year (2012) of the album on the back. First record was considerably quiet, tons of smooth and rich dynamics. However, the second record was absolutely noisy, it's almost as if they used the unmastered tracks for the first six tracks of the first record, and the brickwalled, compressed tracks for the second record. The second record is also way too bassy. There's literally digital clipping/audio distortion on the second record which is absolutely horrendous and noticable even at a low volume, the solo for Keep On Lying is unbearable on this pressing. The second record also skips and jumps like crazy even with proper cartridge setup and counterweight/tracking force.3/10, this isn't a very good pressing or reissue. I've heard that the EU pressing is good, try that one out.

I cycled my butt off today on my break from work to collect this from the sorting office. I love this album, love KP and love my bro for getting it for me! Peace out!We all know KP is a musical genius, this album is colourful and emotive - sounds delicious on wax!

The pre-order for the LP came in a number of variants, in editions of 100, none of which varied greatly from the others. In the UK there were the Rough Trade & RecordStore.co.uk autographed editions. The Rough Trade edition came with a bonus CD, and RecordStore.co.uk, with 3 badges. Some copies were signed by all band members, and others by just Kevin.Similar editions appeared in the US and Australia. Anyone care to fill in?

I also ordered mine from recordstore.co.uk and it was only signed by KP. Came with 3 badges too.

I ordered my copy from RecordStore.co.uk and it was only signed by Kevin.

Could anyone tell me if there is a generic first pressing of this? Or is the deluxe version as close as it gets?

... I mean Grizzy (autocorrect got me)

Grizzly, I have recently got this on vinyl. It is noticeably much better sounding than the download I had, so I'm really please actually as I love this album. The DR rating bears this out (see the Loudness War website). I got it from Amazon add it's so easy to return no questions asked if it was warped etc, but it's absolutely fine. Crap paper inners, yes, but nothing an anti static insert won't fix.A

I wanna get this album on vinyl, but i hear alot of complaints..(noisy in quite spots)check the amazon reviews (there's one on the vinyl copy, and theirs alot of people agreeing with it)anyone who owns this, please write your thoughts on the vinyl pressing of this, need to know!

One other thing, because I misread your comment: The US pressing is noisy between tracks and in quiet spots, while the UK pressing does not have this issue. However, on both versions, the coda of Apocalypse Dreams sounds very noisy. Still a great record to have though. Get the UK version if you can.
ME
Most of the album sounds great except for the second half of Apocalypse Dreams. I usually have to skip the coda because it sounds like shit.

Honestly this is one of the BEST albums I've heard in a long time. Lonerism ranked high on my list of top 10 albums from 2012. There's this unique sound that spans across all the tracks. They are so unique and take you on a musical journey. Some songs actually gave me a chilling feeling that the band was channeling The Beatles (though not purposely of course). My top 2 fav tunes have to be 'Why Won't They Talk To Me' and 'Suns Coming Up', though I really enjoy the entire album from start to finish. Most def a record I'd recommend to any serious pop/rock fan as a must have!
