Heavy, clean, quiet pressing. Jacket is decent, if not a bit flimsy. Mixed a little low for my taste...I found that I really had to turn this one up. I also noticed the sibilance issues that others have mentioned...particularly (and maybe exclusively) on "New Age" and "I Found A Reason." I'm not sure how the masters sound for this release...my only other exposure to this album is from disc 5 of the "Peel Slowly and See" box (wish that would get a proper vinyl release), so I'm not an authority on this. At some point I want to track down an original pressing in good condition, but until then, this copy will suffice.

I grabbed a copy of this pressing on sale from Amazon. The wax itself was clean and quiet. The mix however was a mixed bag. The bass was nice and deep (supposedly more than the first pressing) but many tracks had serious sibilance issues with some of the "esses" so harsh and biting they'll take your head off. The digital version featured noise reduction and corrected sibilance but the soundstage and bass suffered from it. The soundstage is retained on this vinyl pressing which barely makes up for the sibilance issues. The track, "I Found A Reason" was probably the biggest offender with the echoey reverb of the word "Reason" in the chorus scraping the sky at every instance. Yes, trim the gain, boost the bass, crush the loudness button and it's bareable but it still causes this pressing to fall shy of the mark here.

In the song New Age you can notice it more.
