Ulick O'Connor, barrister and journalist, already well-known for his biography of Oliver St. John Gogarty (friend of the 1916 leaders) was born in Dublin in 1929.
He graduated in philosophy from the National University of Ireland and took a diploma in dramatic literature at Loyola University in New Orleans.
Here Mr. O'Connor introduces and reads some of the poems of 1916 Rebellion leaders, who were poets as well as soldiers.
